Pablo Lamata, PhD

Dr. Pablo Lamata is an experienced researcher at Siemens Molecular Imaging (Oxford). His current research interest is the surgery of the future, driven by technical advances in virtual or augmented reality, robotics and computer assisted systems.

He completed a PhD in laparoscopic virtual reality simulation in 2006 at the Bioengineering and Telemedicine Centre (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), while he also was Technical Manager of IHE-E, Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise Spain. In 2002 he received a five-years telecommunications engineering degree from the Universidad de Zaragoza, with a MSc in Medical Image Processing (honoured with a COIT prize). He has also worked at the Dept. of Biosurgery and Surgical Technology (Imperial College London) and at the I3A (Instituto de Investigación en Ingeniería de Aragón).
