OpenVolume is a small library for reading medical images. It was originally developed to improve on the volume reading facilites of the volume rendering library SimVoleon developed by one of the partners in the ARIS*ER consortium. OpenVolume contains no direct dependencies to SimVoleon, hence it can easily be used in other projects which require a volume reading library with a simple interface.
OpenVolume can currently read the following formats:
OpenVolume depends on InsightToolkit for providing support for most of the image formats, however it can also be built as a standalone library with no dependencies to external libraries, but the number of supported image formats will decrease dramatically.
OpenVolume can be downloaded from the ARIS*ER subversion server:

with the read-only account (username/password):
ariser/ariser.
